Celebrating 25 Years on the Throne

This year marks the 25th jubilee of Prince Hans-Adam II's reign. To celebrate the occasion the Liechtenstein post announced this week that they will issue a new stamp featuring the Principality's head of state who became Fürst on November 13, 1989, upon his father's death. Not surprisingly, members of the Princely Family are regularly depicted on Liechtenstein's stamps that are very popular with collectors all over the world as the Principality's stamps only have a small circulation and are thus quite rare.

Another new stamp this fall will feature the princely porcelain. In addition, there will be a joined stamp with Singapore. The Principality regularly issues stamps together with other small countries. Back in the day there also used to be stamps together with Monaco depicting Prince Franz Josef II and Princess Gina of Liechtenstein as well as Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace of Monaco.

All stamps will be available starting on November 10 in Liechtenstein post shops and can also be ordered online.
